Mumbai – Lalit Gandhi has been re-elected unopposed for the fourth consecutive term as the President of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), the apex body representing the state’s industry, trade, and agri-business sectors. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Hon. Amit Shah formally handed over the Presidential Cup to Gandhi, thereby officially assigning him the role of president.
Receiving the prestigious responsibility of the presidency during the centenary celebrations of the chamber, Lalit Gandhi was felicitated at the ceremony attended by a host of dignitaries including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar, and Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, among others.
During his address, Hon. Amit Shah emphasized that Gandhi should lead the Maharashtra Chamber with a vision for the next 100 years and adopt a professional approach to operations. He stated that the rich legacy and experience of the chamber, built over a century, would be vital in shaping the state’s future development.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the Chamber has laid the foundation for nurturing new entrepreneurs in the fields of industry, trade, and agriculture. While there are many chambers of commerce and industry across India, this is the only one that combines commerce, industry, and agriculture in its name. It was through this very organization that institutions like FICCI were born. The chamber, which began with the aim of indigenizing trade and industry 100 years ago, now stands with great pride and significance. He congratulated the institution and extended best wishes for its future journey.
Fadnavis also highlighted that B.G. Kher, a member of the Chamber’s board of directors, became the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra after independence, indicating the chamber’s influential stature.
He added that today, it is important to remember Sheth Walchand Hirachand, one of the key pioneers of India’s development. As the founder of the chamber, he inspired thousands. The sapling planted by Sheth Walchand has now grown into a mighty institution under the leadership of Lalit Gandhi. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the chamber's 100th year would be historic under Gandhi’s leadership.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the Chamber’s glorious legacy and its significant contributions to the state’s progress.
Under Lalit Gandhi’s leadership, the Maharashtra Chamber has initiated several major programs for the development of trade and industry across the state. There is strong belief that under his continued leadership, the Chamber will perform excellently and contribute significantly to both state and national development.
In his remarks, newly re-elected President Lalit Gandhi expressed gratitude to the members for electing him unopposed for a fourth term. He mentioned that receiving the charge from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, known for his strong leadership across the country, was one of the most honorable moments of his life. Gandhi assured that he would strive to fulfill all the expectations expressed by the dignitaries and that the Chamber would provide effective leadership at both national and international levels for the holistic development of Maharashtra’s trade and industry sectors.

मुंबई – महाराष्ट्र में उद्योग, व्यापार और कृषि उद्योग के शीर्ष संगठन "महाराष्ट्र चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स, इंडस्ट्री एंड एग्रीकल्चर" के अध्यक्ष पद पर ललित गांधी को लगातार चौथी बार निर्विरोध रूप से पुनः नियुक्त किया गया है। केंद्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री श्री अमित शाह के हाथों उन्हें प्रेसिडेंशियल कप प्रदान कर अध्यक्ष पद का कार्यभार सौंपा गया।

इस अवसर पर केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने मार्गदर्शन करते हुए कहा कि ललित गांधी को महाराष्ट्र चेंबर के माध्यम से अगले सौ वर्षों की योजना बनानी चाहिए और व्यावसायिक कार्यशैली अपनानी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि चेंबर की 100 वर्षों की गौरवशाली परंपरा और अनुभव आने वाले समय में विकास के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण साबित होंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स, इंडस्ट्री एंड एग्रीकल्चर ने उद्योग, व्यापार और कृषि क्षेत्र में नए उद्यमियों को उभरने का अवसर दिया। देश में कई चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स या इंडस्ट्री नाम की संस्थाएं हैं, लेकिन "कॉमर्स, इंडस्ट्री और एग्रीकल्चर" जैसे संयुक्त नाम वाली यह एकमात्र संस्था है, जिसके माध्यम से फिक्की जैसी संस्थाओं की भी नींव पड़ी। 100 साल पहले भारतीय उद्योग और व्यापार के भारतीयकरण की सोच से शुरू की गई यह संस्था आज बड़े गौरव के साथ खड़ी है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने आगे कहा कि इस संस्था के पूर्व निदेशक बी.जी. खेर स्वतंत्रता के बाद महाराष्ट्र के पहले मुख्यमंत्री बने थे, इससे चेंबर का प्रभाव स्पष्ट होता है। साथ ही उन्होंने शेठ वालचंद हीराचंद जी को भी याद करते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने इस संस्था की स्थापना कर हजारों लोगों को प्रेरणा दी और आज ललित गांधी के नेतृत्व में यह संस्था अपने 100वें वर्ष को ऐतिहासिक बनाएगी।
उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने महाराष्ट्र चेंबर की भव्य परंपरा की सराहना करते हुए उसके विकास में योगदान की प्रशंसा की।ललित गांधी के नेतृत्व में महाराष्ट्र चेंबर ने उद्योग और व्यापार क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण पहल की हैं, और भविष्य में भी संस्था उनकी अगुवाई में राज्य और देश के विकास में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाएगी, ऐसा विश्वास व्यक्त किया गया।
